Final GRG races for Autumn 2024 – form is live!

Hello to all at GRG,

Well, we have our final 2 races of GRG Autumn 2024 and plenty of money is up for grabs. Our ‘Pride of Jenni’ leader Bobby Dazzler looks to have a mortgage on the title, but can someone do the unthinkable and take top spot. Money is up for grabs for the top 6 placings so good luck.

Plenty of pride up for grabs as well so the last 2 races are critical.

We have 2 races, the All-Aged Stakes and the Champagne Stakes.

History of All Aged Stakes

First run in 1865, this is a race where very good horses win. Some of the stars who have won include Carbine, Peter Pan, Ajax x 3, Bernborough, Tulloch, Lord, Rough Habit, Sunline and I have to include the greatest bridesmaid in history Hay List.

History of the Champagne Stakes

First run in 1861, the Champagne became the 3rd leg of the 2-year-old Autumn triple crown. Six horses have completed the triple crown, Baguette, Luskin Star, Tierce, Burst, Dance Hero and Pierro. Some of the other stars to win this race include one of my favs Red Anchor, Vain, Todman and Castlevecchio.

Good luck with the final 2 races of GRG this autumn.

In summary, we have 4 x Group 1 races. Please see below some history for your information.

And on the 6th April, there was movement!

Hello all at GRG,

I called it MOVING DAY and once again I was 100% correct. Bobby Dazzler, our Dual champion, went bang and strode to the top of the GRG leader with a 40-point day.

Some incredible racing today with many highlights but I would suggest the win of Riff Rocket has to be number 1. Although the Doncaster and the win by Celestial Legend would also rank up as the best of the day.

In GRG, the two top scorers of the day were Booby Dazzler and Crackers with 40 points. The lowest was 11 points, and our non-tippers all received 11 as well.

In summary:

  • 2 box trifectas and 50 box quinellas for the day.
  • Derby – 22 was the top score (Snapper/Donnie and Winxy) and 45 tipped Riff Rocket to win.
  • Doncaster – 14 was the top score (Crackers/Ashfinky/Finbarrs Quaddie) and 6 tipped Celestial Legend to win.
  • Sires – 15 was the top score by Bobby Dazzler and Happy Valley. 9 tipped Manaal to win.
  • TJ Smith – 3 points the top score by 24 players.

Most Tipped Winners Comp

3 equal leaders being Ashfinky/Bobby Dazzler and Sherro. 5 players on 10 wins

GRG Title Race

Bobby Dazzler now leads by 10 and is striving to be a 3-time champion. In 2nd is Garo on 164. 3rd is Ashfinky on 162. Lurking in 4th is Pas on 158 with Smacka in 5th on 155. Benny Badness and Crackers made some big moves today and are on 154. In 8th is Jeromino on 152 with Jcook in 9th on 150. The big lad from Essendon Gman had a cracking day and jumped from 23rd to 10th. Only 23 points separates 2nd from 23rd.

6 races to go with 4 races next week including 1 BONUS points race.

Who will win GRG Autumn 2024? Will Bobby do it again?

6th April is going to be huge!

Hello to all at GRG,

Well, this weekend we head to one of my fav tracks being Royal Randwick. It is a fantastic course and has been the scene of many amazing races over the years. Day 1 of the Championships is always exciting, as it has the time-honored Australian Derby plus the Doncaster Mile. One of the greatest mile races in the world!

In GRG we have 4 races this weekend including 2 x BONUS points races. This Saturday will have a huge say in who wins GRG this Autumn. If you want to be in the prizemoney, it will need to be MOVING Day.

Summary of the Races

ATC Sires Produce – A race for 2-year-olds only, this race is race 2 of the 3 leg 2-year-old Autumn Triple crown. Run over 1400m and first run in 1867, this race has been won by champs such as Ajax, Tulloch, Luskin Star, Wenona Girl, Burst, Octagonal, Sebring and Pierro.

TJ Smith Stakes – First run in 1997, this is for very fast sprinters. Winners have included the incredible Mahogany, Takeover Target, the all-time great Black Caviar, the mighty grey Chautauqua, Santa Ana Lane and the great enigma Nature Strip. Last year it was won by I Wish I win.

Doncaster Mile (BONUS POINTS RACE) – Have to admit I have a soft spot for this race. Why – Because of Super Impose!. Anyway, first run in 1866, some of the great milers to win this race include Wakeful, Tobin Bronze, the grey Gunsynd, the might mare Emancipation, the superstar Sunline, Haradasun, Sacred Falls x 2, Happy Clapper and 2 of the greatest being Super Impose x 2 and Winx.

Australian Derby (BONUS POINTS RACE) – The time honoured classic first run 1861! This is a champions race for 3-year-olds. Recently dominated by the Kiwi horses, the race has been won by champs such as Gloaming, Manfred, the greatest of all Pharlap, Peter Pan, Tulloch, Dulcify, the champ Kingston Town, Strawberry Road, the mighty Bonecrusher, Mahogany, Octagonal and breeding sensation Its a Dundeel.

Good luck and have a great day on the punt and good tipping to you all.
